Encouraged by spectators who had completed their own 9 hole competition, the pair played the 19th hole strongly and we saw some amazing golf from both players as they realized that for either player to win, they had to play accurately and yet take risks to achieve the lower score. Sharon won three holes in a row and Janeen just couldn’t close the contest until they squared the 24th hole. Janeen became the Champion for 2014 - 4 /3.
The Silver Salver final teed off at 8.30, the contest was between Minnie Semmelmann, the first qualifier and Ann Morton, the second qualifier. They played evenly with much concentration until Minnie came to grief in the water on the back nine and Ann (+3) became the winner on the 16th hole.
Congratulations to all of the finalists.
