Coring of the greens is set to be done on Monday 17th of September. This process is a key requirement in ensuring the long term health and conditioning of the greens and is a process that cannot be avoided. With fine weather and an army of helpers the process should be completed in a day and with a good coverage of sand the greens will remain playable.
Many players may be disappointed with the timing of this process given the course is just getting back into peak condition after winter, however September remains the best time for the greens to be cored and will also ensure that the entire course is at its best for the Club Championships which start in mid October. Some very exciting news for out next monthly medal competition to be held on the 15th September is that the new 15th hole will be open for play. With the new green, remodeled fairway and new water hazards this should make a vast improvement over the old hole whose original green had certainly seen better days.
