With the course now drying out from winter there is very little mud around and as such the Match Committee have decided to remove the mud rule from our competition play. If conditions change over the coming weeks this may alter however it is hoped that there should be no need to alter this again until next winter.

The committee, together with the advice of our ground staff, are again allowing the use of motorised carts, both members carts and the club carts, on the course. Thanks to the dry weather the course has begun to recover well from winter however there are still a number of areas that are soft / damp and players are asked to be mindful of this.
Carts should always be kept out of the wet areas of the course, and not driven too close to the greens, in order to protect these sensitive areas and help ensure the condition of the course for all. Whilst we hope we have seen the majority of the very wet weather the committee may reverse this decision at any time based on the course condition and the advice of our ground staff. With this weeks fine weather forecast right through to Saturday the match committee and ground staff are expecting the course to be in good shape for the Saturday competition. Having missed the past few Saturday competition rounds due to the lack of numbers, poor weather and the wet course condition the match committee has decided to switch this weeks programmed 3 clubs and a putter round to a stroke round. It is hoped that we will also have sufficient numbers to hold the July Monthly Medal as part of this. Members are also reminded that they must be using the online booking system as per the normal rules. It has been disappointing to see the number of members ignoring this during the winter months and whilst some leniency has been granted during the poor weather this will not be the case during any weeks where the course and weather is fine. See you on the course. Hugh Griffin EGC Captain Match Committee |
