Despite this weeks rain the course is holding up ok and will be open for play for the weekend, although motorised carts continue to be banned from use given the soft conditions and impact they have on the course condition. The club competition for Saturday the 30th will be the monthly medal which was washed out on the 23rd.
The final round of pennants is here so good luck to all players, particularly those fighting for a finals spot. Teams for week 5 can be found here: Week 5 Pennant Teams.
With one week to go the A1 and B2 teams have already qualified for the final. Unfortunately both the B3 and C2 teams are out of the finals race. Week 4 results can be found here: Week 4 Pennant Results

Congratulations to Chris Greenwood and Kym Wenham on reaching the final of the 2012 Handicap Matchplay Championship which was played on Saturday 16th June.
In what was a see-saw battle across the full 18 holes Chris jumped to an early lead thanks to some fine drives and approach shots before Kym started to find his range and claw back the advantage. This resulted in a compelling match that went the full 18 holes with Kym finally prevailing on the 18th with a 1 up victory.
So congratulations to Kym Wenham on being this years Handicap Matchplay Champion. Full results for the championship can be found here: 2012 Handicap Matchplay Results.
Due to the recent bad weather the course will be closed to carts until further notice. This is effective from 14/06/2012.
This is an unfortunate implication of our clay based soils and is not a decision taking lightly by the Grounds Committee, however after inspecting the course and discussing the conditions with our Superintendent the Grounds Committee have decided that it is in the best interests of our course to not allow carts until further notice.
The full Management Committee is due to meet on Wednesday the 20/06/2012 and the use of carts and decisions surrounding the closure of the course will be discussed.
Teams for Week 3 of the 2012 pennant season can be found here: Week 3 Pennant Teams. Good luck to all players in this weekends matches.
Week 2 pennant results saw our top two teams in A1 and A2 grades win again to make it 2 from 2 whilst the B1 team picked up a half playing South Lakes at South Lakes.
