Saturday the 29th October is our Medal of Medals round. Players qualify for the Medal of Medals by winning a Monthly Medal throughout the year with the winner of the Medal of Medals determined by the best gross stroke from the qualified players during the round with winners across each grade. the 2016 qualifiers can be found via the document below:
Medal of Medals - 2016 qualifiers Unfortunately the course received another 15mm overnight (Thursday) to go with the significant rain already received earlier in the week. This has left the already wet course in a near saturated position, forcing the ground staff and grounds committee to make the tough decision to again not allow members to use carts for the Saturday competition (22nd), and first round of Club Championships qualifying.
The majority of members that this affects are D Grade players and as such the match committee has decided that the qualifying for the D Grade club championships will now just be 18 holes, to be held during the second week on Saturday the 29th October. It is hoped that carts will be allowed back onto the course for this week. For all other grades the club championship qualifying and finals will be held as programmed. With qualifying for the 2016 Club Championships about to commence the best location to find all the qualifying results and match play draws is over on the Club Championships main page.
All members are reminded that if they wish to be a part of this years Club Championships they must place their name on the registration sheet, available from the bar, prior to the end of the 2nd round of qualifying on October 29th. ALL PLAYERS MUST ENSURE THEY ARE AVAILABLE TO PLAY DURING ALL WEEKS OF THE MATCHPLAY FINALS HELD ON THE 5th, 12th & 19th OF NOVEMBER. The club has organised a working bee on Tuesday 18th October as part of the regular volunteer working group which anyone who has some time is encouraged to attend and help out.
The working bee will commence at 9:00 am running through to 12:30 pm with lunch provided afterwards. The main focus of the working bee will be a general clean up of the course. If you are unable to attend but interested to try and help out in future volunteer days please email the club at [email protected] and the club will be in touch. With the course starting to again look good and the weather starting to finally dry out and warm up the coming months should see lots of golf back at Echunga. As a result members are reminded that when using the online booking system that they must follow the user policy as outlined on the home page and login page.
Members are reminded that they have a duty to remove their name as soon as they become aware that they will not be playing. Not only is this important in order to allow others the ability to book during the popular early times but also to ensure that any members looking for a game can make a booking safe in the knowledge that the group they are down with will be turning up to play. The Match Committee will as usual be keeping a close eye on the online booking sheet and warning emails, as well as penalties in line with the booking policy, available on the home page of the website, will be issued where appropriate. |
