The prevalence of motorised vehicles and the cost and burden of obtaining a medical certificate are the main reasons for the Match Committee making this decision.
Whilst not previously publicised, the Match Committee has made the decision that a medical certificate is NOT required in order to use a motorised cart in ALL golf club competitions. This includes all Championship and Monthly Medal competitions.

Now that any member can use one of the clubs hire carts and no medical certificate is required will the club's Match Committee and/or Executive prioritize the hiring of these carts by members who need to hire a cart because they have an existing disability and have submitted a medical certificate from a medical practitioner?

There has been very little change in the match committees policy on carts as previously members could hire a cart for use in ALL competitions without a medical certificate. They were simply ineligible for Monthly Medals and couldn't play Club Championships. As such there should be no need to take such action as you propose.
