The matchplay finals for the 2015 Foursomes Championships were played on Saturday the 2nd May. Gorgeous weather greeted the morning semi-finalists with the top qualifiers of Naren Taverna and Andrew Keogh prevailing against Rob Langbein and Andy Amberg whilst Ian Bonython and Pat Buying were too strong for Ray D A'lessandro and Rob Eibisch.
This set up a final bewteen the top two qualifiers which proved to be a close and see sawing battle which saw both pairings struggle with the difficulties of a matchplay foursomes event. Whilst Taverna and Keogh held the early edge they never held a lead greater than 1 up around the front nine.
Moving onto the back Bonython and Buying played some solid golf, evening up the score before grabbing the lead on the 12th however this proved short lived as they lost 14 and 15 before Buying holed a sensational birdie putt on 16 to again tie the scores.
However it was Taverna and Keogh who proved too strong with Keogh hitting a nice shot into the 17th to set up par and the hole win before with chipping to 2 feet on the last to again set up par. When Buying's par putt missed the game was all over. Congratulations to our 2015 Foursomes Champions, Andrew Keogh and Naren Taverna.
